Fundamentals 1st

What it’s About:

Fundamentals 1st is a workshop for people who love photography and want to learn the building blocks to making great images and controlling their camera.

The concepts taught in this workshop are the bare bones of photography which were used decades ago by great photographers and are still used today by great photographers. Emphasis is placed on learning manual exposure by understanding aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Other concepts that will be discussed include camera settings (RAW vs. jpeg, White Balance, the Histogram, and color space), lens choice, composition, shooting techniques, and a brief discussion on post-processing.

I won’t be revealing a magic button on your camera that will turn you into Ansel Adams when you press it. We will, however, learn how to use our minds to control the camera and our hearts to create meaningful images.

Who this Workshop is for:

Do you want to understand the basic concepts of photography?

Are you thinking about making photography a career?

Do you have a digital SLR, but have no idea how to use it?

Do you want to be able to control your camera?

Are you a mom or dad and just want to make great images of your kids?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then this workshop is for you. Whether you love to photograph people, landscapes, or objects, the principles taught in this workshop apply.
